Week of July 18th-22nd

Classroom: Ositos
Blog Title: Summer Camp
Week: July 18th to July 22nd, 2016
Weekly Featured Theme: Little Scientists

🔠 What are we learning?
Dear Ositos Parents,
This week we will learn to be little scientists! We will discover and enjoy many new experiences together. We will be creating art figures of sea creatures after learning interesting facts about the wonders of the ocean. We will be also discussing about colors and how we can mix colors to create new ones.

We will continue creating safe learning environments that offer the children the opportunity to explore and experiment with science. We have scheduled exciting learning activities that will allow us to continue strengthening motor and cognitive-sensory skills such as discovering how a flower petals can change color if they are submerged in colored water, playing with green slime that we will prepare ourselves and exploring microscopic organisms by looking at them using a microscope.

Thank you once again for all your support and for letting us play such an important role in your child’s life.

Best Regards,
Miss Amparo and Miss Claudia

📄 Materials for Special Projects/Activities
Have your child wear swimsuit and water shoes for Splash Day. Bring a towel. Pack all these items in a tote bag for your child. We recommend to label the bag, swimsuit, towel and shoes with your child’s name.

🔆 Friendly Reminders
Check your child’s cubby and remove everything and bring new set of clothing that is appropriate to sunny weather.
Sunscreen and mosquito repellant are important to protect your child because he/she is very susceptible to sunburn/mosquito bites. Yet applying sunscreen and mosquito repellent to your child requires planning. If sunscreen and mosquito repellent must be applied to your child, make sure to fill out an administration or authorization form specifying when sunscreen and mosquito repellant should be applied and be sure to supply the sunscreen and mosquito repellant, label the bottles with your child's name and place them in a ziploc bag.
Apply sunscreen to your child at home in the mornings.
Bring a hat for your child if he/she is sensitive to the sun.

📆 Holidays & Upcoming Events
Splash days on Wednesdays and Fridays.
