Theme of the week: “Celebrating Independence Day/Celebrando el Dia de la Independencia.”

Hola Ositos Parents,
Welcome to the third week of our Summer Camp 2015! This week is one of our favorites because we celebrate our Independence! We will have many activities to celebrate this important date.  We will make an Independence Day hat and flags, we'll simulate fireworks with recycled materials. We will also enjoy a picnic outside, and dance to American music.  We will also have a small parade where we will learn everything about playing such an important date.
Special Activities:
Monday: We will make a special “4^th of July” hat for our Parade on Thursday.
Tuesday: We make our flag and launch paper balls to topple plastic bottles!
Wednesday: We will dance to American music. We’ll also paint and have our picnic outside, if you would like to donate a snack of your choice we would appreciate and so would our Ositos as well!
Thursday: We will have our parade and sing the National Anthem. Please dress your child with clothes in reference to the Independence Day (red, white, and blue).  Sff! will have “The Parade of Independence” during which the whole school will meet to hear the National Anthem. We will also have music and pretend fireworks.
Friday: School is closed.
At home, you could motivate our children with stories of Independence, talk about the President and the White House, and the meaning of this historical day.

                         Theme of the Week: ”We go Camping”                                             

 

Hola Ositos parents:

Welcome to the second week of summer camp 2015!

This week we will enjoy many activities and fun experiences, filled with creativity and imagination.  We will do the following during this action packed week: play outside while pretending to be explorers, sing songs and play music, have our first Zumba class on Thursday, play soccer on Wednesday, read stories, and Chef Pepín will visit! We are happy to have your children join us this summer.

For some of the crafts we will be doing, we will need your collaboration with recycled paper and shoeboxes.  On Monday, the 22^nd, please send your child with a bottle of water (or a canteen) and binoculars for a special activity. On Friday, bring your sleeping bag because we will pretend to go camping.

Also, as a special request, if any parent would like to bring a tent on Friday so we can enjoy more of this activity, we would appreciate it!  If you have one and are planning to bring it, please let us know. Thank you in advance.

 

We are grateful for your continuous support in all of our summer camp activities, to motivate our children to suggest this week at home, you can read stories about expeditions, friendship, and camping.

Hola Ositos parents,

Welcome to summer camp 2015!

This week we will enjoy many activities and fun experiences filled with creativity and imagination.  Our activities will include: playing outside, doing crafts, singing songs, zumba, soccer, playing music, swim/splash, a cooking seminar, reading stories, and much more! We are happy to have your children join us this summer.

For some of the crafts activities, we need your collaboration with plastic bottles of any kind as well as newspaper. Thank you in advance.

Father’s Day Celebration

We would like to extend an invitation to all dads to come celebrate Father's Day on Friday June 19th at 4:00pm. We will join other classes in games for a lot of fun. We will be the red team. Please make sure to wear your red t-shirt.

Recyclable Material this week

Part of our mission this summer camp is to work with recycle material. This week we will be collecting plastic bottles and cake plastic lids for our activities. Please bring as much as you can.  Be on the look next week for what we will be recycling!

Theme of the week: “The Universe and I ” (El Universo y yo)
Week of June 8th - June 12th

 Hola Ositos Parents,
This week we will continue talking about the universe, with an emphasis on the Moon, the Sun and stars. We will answer a whirlwind of questions on this topic, for example: How do the Sun and the Moon rise? When do they do this?

Our goal this week is for the children to have a clear notion about the theme of the week.

This month our project make the Sun using crafts. Sun template provided.

Important Upcoming Dates:
· June 5th: Report Cards are sent home.
· June 8th through June 12th: Red Shirt Swap.
· June 8th through June 12th- Parents/Teacher conferences - If you would like to have a conference about your child’s development this last trimester, please let us know. We will be offering afternoon conferences.
· June 12th: Early release of the children at 12:30pm. Will be our last day of School for the present School Year! Remember to pick up your children by 12:30 pm that day, since we will be closing early.
· June 15th: First Day of Summer Camp.
· June 19th: Father’s Day celebration.
