Theme of the Week (Tema de la Semana): “Mi cultura y tradiciones / My culture and traditions”
Hola ositos parents:
We continue our subject of culture and traditions, which has been broad and enriching. This week we will complement the theme of the month with some special spring activities and projects. Our goal is: to enjoy the beautiful tradition of collecting eggs for Easter.
Please remember to register for the conferences and to confirm your participation in the international festival to be celebrated on April 10.

Theme of the Week: “My Culture and Traditions”

Hello Ositos Parents,
It’s been two weeks since we’ve begun talking about traditions and customs from United States and Venezuela. The children have learned about cultural differences and other aspects, such as: flags, national symbols and icons, and foods. Also the children have been working hard on rehearsal for our International Day to delight all of you on with our special event.

This week we continue learning about cultures and customs.  The children will learn about another country's culture and traditions this time about “Nicaragua.” Our goal this week is that the children will also be able to recognize national symbols, food, and culture from the three home countries of our teachers!

The Objectives we will be working on are as follows
 
Language
  • Establish comparison of several cultures and traditions from other countries.
  • Name the planets in the solar system.
Cognitive
  • Identify traits, customs and traditions from other countries.
  • Recognize and names some discoveries and inventions.
Psychomotor: 
  • Jumps with both feet at the same time
  • Strings small beads
Socio-emotional:  
  • Enjoys engaging in group activities
  • Creates his/her own dramatic play

March 30 – Teacher conferences. Sign-up sheet is posted outside our classroom.
April 2nd: Egg Easter Hunt Celebration. We are planning a fun activity for this day. Make sure to send your child with his/her Easter basket.

Theme of the Week (Tema de la Semana): Mi cultura y tradiciones/ My culture and traditions
 
Hola ositos parents:
 
As you all know traditions are comprised of cultural a goods transfer from generation to generation. It's about those customs and manifestations that each society considers valuable and maintains so they can be learned by new generations as indispensable parts of the cultural legacy and personal identity.
 
Our goal this week is that your children get to know and identify cultures and traditions from countries different from their country of origin. We will focus on Venezuela. Its gastronomy, crafts, and national symbols.
 
Ositos parents please feel free to share your culture and traditions on this 3rd week where we will talk about all things culture related.

Objectives we will be working are as follows
Language

* Mentioned characteristics of the country where you live.
* Mentioned customs and traditions of other countries.
Cognitive
*Give attention for up to 20 minutes.
*Recognizes and names characteristics of the country you live.

Psychomotor: 
*Recognize the left and right side of his/her body.
*Pours water from a jug to a cup without help.

Socio-emotional:  
*Draws the human body with details.
* Interacts appropriately with peers

Starting the week of March 23rd, please help us by sending Easter eggs and their fillings separately. We are planning a great activity with our Ositos, and we will need your help.
You can drop them at the front desk, there will be an assigned place for all Easter eggs and fillings.
Also, we are looking for parent volunteer to help us filling the Easter eggs and placing them in the playground. Most importantly, we are looking for a parent who would like to volunteer to be our EASTER BUNNY!.
If you would like to help us, please let us or Administration know.

Greetings to Ositos Parents!
This is the second week of March and I feel that we just started the Year. It is unbelievable how time goes by.  During this second week we will continue studying My Country, in where we prepare a nice presentation to the teach children about the amazing history on the United States.  We think that Literature is the most important learning approach on an awesome subject! Since the US has a very deep history, I tried to select specific Historical Moments that are fun and that the kids will enjoy learning about. We will use visual representation for demonstrating to the preschoolers.    Also, we will be having other fun activities inside the classroom with materials related to US history including topics on Native Americans, Our Founders Fathers, culture, and food.  Hopefully, the children will enjoy this week and come home talking about the US History.


Objectives we will be working on are as follows


Language
  • Pictures of Founding Fathers and Native Americans.
  • Poster of pictures with National symbols.
  • Flash cards with word of the letter Jj.


Cognitive
  • Learning new vocabulary.
  • Reviewing numbers continuing counting from 1 to 10 and backward 10 to 1. 
  • Identifying facial features. 


Psychomotor: 
        *Tracing the letter Jj.
       *Tracing numbers.


Socio-emotional:  
   *Enjoying songs, poem and riddles
