Dear Ositos Parents:
This week our Ositos will
continue learning about US history and the marvelous places we have in our
country. We will take a tour to know the monuments, museums and World Heritage
Sites in some States: New York, Washington DC, California, Virginia, North
Carolina, Philadelphia, Wyoming, Florida, Idaho and more.
We will also make a review of the
letters that we have learned the past few weeks, practicing reading, rhymes and
poems.
Our objectives by areas this week
are:
Socio-emotional: Express freely feelings and emotions.
Cognitive: Classify objects by size, color and shape.
Psychomotor: Do somersaults.
Language: Identify characteristics of the country where he/she
lives.
Literacy Activity: Review of letters “G,Y,F,J.”
Tips:
·
Visit with your
child http://www.nps.gov/nr/travel/worldheritagesites/list_of_sites.htm to see the most beautiful places in our country.
·
Talk to your
child about the values of love and respect for the country where he/she lives.
Homework
of the week:
Make sure to take home your
child’s notebook this Friday to reinforce the activities that we are working in
class. Please bring them back on Monday.
Remember,
kids are more successful in school when parents take an active interest in
their homework — it shows kids that what they do is important.
Special Events,
Welcome and Birthdays (Eventos especiales, Bienvenidas y Estudiante de la
Semana):
This week our Traveling Pet “Willy” will visit Lyla’s
house. He is so excited to have fun with Lyla and her family. Don’t forget to
record your memories (pictures) to share with your classmates.
Friendly Reminders:

We will be very
happy, and our Ositos will be very grateful, if you have souvenirs from some
places you have visited in EE.UU that you would like to bring and show them to
the class.

The weather still cold, please bring appropriate
clothes for your child: long sleeve shirt, long pants, jacket, gloves, hat,
scarf (in a labeled tote bag) and a
cozy blanket for nap time.
·
There will be a sign-up sheet outside the classroom
for the Parents/Teacher Conference on March 18, in case you would like to talk
to the teachers about your child’s progress.
·
Our Ositos will have their Easter egg hunt on March 23. We will post a sign-up sheet outside
the classroom for your donations. Thank you in advance.
·
Don’t forget to take home your child’s blanket on Friday and bring it
back on Monday.
·
Make sure your child washes his/her hands when arriving and leaving the
