Theme of the week: “Mi Escuela y Yo/ My School and I”

Dear Ositos Parents,

 Last week our children did awesomely by adapting to the classroom rules and routine, and getting information about the centers and items they can play with. Congratulations.

This week, our Ositos will visit all the classrooms and Offices at Sff! (Cary), they will also meet the Director and Assistant Director and learn what they do on a daily basis. They will receive a short explanation about healthy food from Miss Hilda (our Chef). They will finish this week with a social activity: a picnic in the new boat.

Our objectives by areas this week, are:

Socio-emotional: Interact with peers and adults in a socially appropriate manner.

Cognitive: Reinforce numbers and classify objects by color and size, as well as practicing measuring objects.

Psychomotor: Develop large and small muscles through developmentally appropriate activities.

Language: Express and share ideas.

Tips: At home, you can help your child to express his/her experiences at school by asking some of the following questions: Who did you meet today?, How many classrooms are there in your school? What is the name of the Director? Who did you play with today?

Friendly Reminders:

Please read your child’s journal to learn about the daily activities.

Please bring a blanket for your child to use at nap time.

Please label all your child’s belongings.

Please don’t forget to fill out our “Family Story Time” signup sheet.

We are in need of any recycled material that you can bring from home, including: empty cereal or cracker boxes, shoe boxes, plastic bottles (juice, milk) for our art projects.
