Week of July 28th -August 1st.


Hello Ositos  Parents
This week our theme will be “caballeros y Princesas” (Knights and Princesses) It will be a wonderful and adventourous week in wich we will pretend we live in castles and the children will dress in costumes and make arts and crafts.

Words of the week:
El caballero – the Knight
El caballo – the horse
El Castillo – the Castle
El dragon – the dragon
La princesa – the princess
El príncipe – the prince
La corona – the Crown

Special activities:
Monday:  we will read stories of princess and knights. The children are welcome to anything related with the theme (toys, books, etc.)

Tuesday:    The girls will make princesses crowns and the boys will make knight’s armors.

Wednesday: We will make delicious cupcakes and enjoy the tee time like in the royalty.

Thursday: We will have the exposition at the lobby of the wonderful crowns and knight armor your child will make.

Friday: There will be ball at the castle… All the knights and princess will dance and show off their crowns, armor and special outfits to their friends at our parade.

Reminders:
Ms. Iris will be out on a well deserved vacation from July 28th through August 7th.

Farewell note:
Today was Qadir Sampson last day. Dear Qadir, our sweet boy, we wish you the best in kindergarten, We love you and  we will miss you so much. Good luck for you and your family in this new stage of life.   

Note:
We will be closing our week  with a fancy ball, if you would like to share some healthy snacks with our princesses  and knights we will be accepting donations    like popsicles, cookies, fruit, cupcakes, crackers,  etc. Thank you so much in advanced for all your support!

Week of July 21st – July 25th.


Hola ositos parents:
Our ositos have had a fun week talking about zoo animals and making different masks. We will continue with many fun activities next week and on this occasion we will be talking about Dinosaurs.

Words of the week:
El dinosaurio- dinosaur
El tiranosaurio- tyrannosaurus
El pterodactilo- The pterodactyl
El triceraptos- The triceraptos
El diplodocus- The diplodocus
El paleontologo- paleontologist
fosil- fossil
excavar- dig
pala- shovel
Special activities:
Monday -Read story about dinosaur. Children can bring their favorite dinosaur’s book.
Tuesday- Children will make faces and masks  of dinosaurs. Please bring small cardboard boxes such as macaroni and cheese empty boxes or any other small boxes.  
Wednesday- We will make fossils with clay and play dough.
Thursday- Children can bring their favorite dinosaur.
*Movie time!!  Children will eat animal crackers and ice cream while watching a movie about dinosaurs.
Friday- Expedition to excavate dinosaur eggs and fossils in the sand.
Afternoon- Dinosaur crafts exhibition in the lobby.

Friendly Remainders:
Friday August  8th.  Early realize for teacher work day at 12:30 and the school will be close Monday 11th.

Week of July 14th - 18th !!!

Hola Ositos parents,
This week our children enjoyed riding their bicycles and playing different games with their friends sapitos and monitos. Thank you so much for all your support! Next week our theme wil be “El zoologico/ the zoo”

The ositos will learn about zoo animals, their habitat, and what they eat.

Words of the week:
·        El elefante- the elephant
·        El oso- the bear
·        El mono- the monkey
·        La jirafa- the jiraffe
·        El hipopotamo- the hippopotamus
·        El leon- the lion
·        La cebra- the zebra
·        El tigre- the tiger

Special activities:

Monday- bring in a toy stuffed animal
Tuesday- the Ositos will make 3D animals with cardboard boxes and recycle materials
Wednesday- the Ositos will animal masks
Thursday- there will be an exhibition of all the animals that the classrooms made at the lobby (we will pretend we are visiting the zoo)
FrIday- animal masks festival

Feliz cumpleanos numero 5 Braydon Plummer, Have a ton of fun on your special day!
Congratulations to the Sneed family for birth of their new baby!

Reminders:
Due to our mornings being busy with special activities we appreciate if you apply sunblock on your child before coming to school this way they have more time to enjoy the fun activities in the mornings, we will reapply the sunblock in the afternnoon again!

Week of July 7th - 11th !!

Hola Ositos parents:

We are very happy that our children are enjoying our summer camp and the new kids in Spanish for fun! Are adapting very well. Good job!!

Next week we will be talking about the theme Las olimpiadas de Spanish for fun!/ Spanish for fun olimpic games” We will talk about competitive sports, emphasizing that it is good to win but it is better to share.

*Monday- Children will dress with the colors of their favorite team.
*Tuesday- Children will dress as athletes.
*Wednesday- Children will prepare in the classroom flags, banners, medals and torches for use in our Olympics.
*Friday- Spanish for fun Olimpic games- This special activity will be our friends the Monitos and Sapitos. Please send your child wearing a yellow T-shirt and running shoes. GRACIAS!!

* This week we said goodbye to Layla Slade. Good Luck in Kindergarten!! Thank you very much to her parents for all their support, GRACIAS!!

Week of June 30- August 3rd !!!

Hola Ositos parents

Our children have had so much fun this week!!
Thank you so much for supporting our activities by bringing in their sleeping bags, tents, fruits and cookies for our picnic. Gracias! Next week we will be talking about the theme “Celebrando el dia de la independencia”/ “Celebrating Independence day”

·        Monday- children will make president hats
·        Tuesday- make fireworks with pipe cleaners

·        Thursday- Independence Day parade- children may come with clothing or accessories alluding to the feast of Independence Day.
·        Friday- Independence Day- School closed

Upcoming:
·        Friday July 11th we will be having our Spanish for fun Olympics Day. This special activity will be with our friends the Monitos and Sapitos. Please send your child wearing a yellow t-shirt and running shoes.

Week of June 23rd - 27th !!!

Hola Ositos parents:

Our first week of summer camp has been fun for our kids. They enjoyed much splash, hat parade and Luau party!!. Thank you for your support, GRACIAS!

Next week we will be talking about the theme: “ Nos vamos de campamento/ We are going camping”

Special activities:

*Monday- Walk around Spanish for fun! Children can bring binoculars, hats and canteen.
*Tuesday- We will make campfire using sticks and papers.
Cooking class- Coconut posicles
*Wednesday- Children can bring their favorite book.
Picnic day!! If you wish, your child may bring fruit or cookies to share.
*Thursday- Pajama day, children may also bring sleeping bags if they have at home.
*Friday- Camp day, children can bring camping items, for example, lantern, backpack, others.

KICK-OFF TO KINDERGARTEN!!!
Celebrate starting kindergarten!, practice a lunch line, get moving at recess, hop on a school bus and explore circle time. Free for new kindergartens and their families at Marbles Kids Museum in downtown Raleigh.
Thursday , June 26  from 5-8pm for rising year round kindergartners.
Saturday August 16th from 9am -5pm for rising traditional kindergartners.

Week of June 16th - 20th !!

Hola Ositos parents:
We want to thank all the Dads who joined us on our big day game yesterday. Hope you have enjoyed this activity. Our Ositos were very excited playing with you, DAD, GRACIAS!!!
Next week we begin our summer camp and we are excited and ready to make your child has a fun and fantastic summer. The theme is El verano llego/ Summer is here/. We will be talking about the fun activities we can do during the summer and we use to protect ourselves from the sun.

Special activities:
*Tuesday, June 17- Glasses day, please bring your child with glasses.
*Wednesday, June 18- Hat day, your child will come with his/her favorite hat.
*Friday, June 20- Luau party- Children come dressed as Hawaiian or any accessory.
Special event:
*Saturday, June 21- GRADUATION CEREMONY!!!
We are preparing our children for this special ceremony. PLEASE, we ask you to be on time in our MOST important activity in our classroom.

On splash day: Our splash days are Wednesday Mornings and Friday afternoons.

Important note:
We want to do a fun summer and your child to do different crafts using recyclables materials. Hope you can bring some of these materials (any week ) such as:
-        Newspaper
-        Plastic bottle of any size
-        Cardboard tubes (aluminum foil or paper towel)
-        Cardboard boxes of any size
