Week of March 7-11!!!

Dear Parents:
The ositos classroom would like to thank you for participating in our field trip; it was a fun and great learning experience, we hope you had a good time.
This week that we are learning about the minerals and we will talk about the sand.
We will experience mixing sand with water.

This week Happy Birthday to Tabitha who is turning 5 years old. Felicidades!!!

Week of February 28- March 04!

Dear Parents:
During this week we will start working on the theme The Mineral Kingdom, and we will be talking about the rocks. Our children will be observing different types of rocks, shapes and sizes. We will do some art with them too. We will sort out rocks and count them; we will talk about the importance of rocks especially when they are used in construction.
Don't forget to pick up your child's report card, let me know if you would like to have Parent-Teacher Conference. After you have read it, please return it to me with your comments and signature. Thank you!

Week of February 21-25!

Hola Parents:
Welcome to this new and exciting week!!! This week we will review what we have learned about the animals, their classification and habitat. Children should be able to identify their sounds and how useful they are.
Thank you all for making our Pet Day a very special one for the children.
Thank you so much for all the support given toward our Valentine's Day activity, the children were very excited to share cards and gifts.
We would like to thank in advance the parents that collaborate with the "classroom book wish list". The list is in the lobby, at the entrance. Thank you!
During the scholastic fair we invite parents to come and read to our children, if you would like to do so, please let us know.
We are preparing for our Field Trip to the Museum of Life and Science in Durham on March 3rd, If you haven't turned in your fieldtrip forms, please do so.

Week of February 14-18!

Hola Parents:
We will continue with the theme " The Animal Kingdom", this week learning about the domestic animals, their habitat and how useful they are.
"Feliz Dia de San Valentin" Happy Valentine's Day and thank you for all the demonstrations of love and the details of  appreciation toward our work.

We would like to remind you that this week we have "Pet Day" on  Wednesday,Thursday and Friday, you can sign up to bring your pet in the sign up sheet in the classroom's door.

Week of February 7- 11!!!

Hola Parents:
We want to wish you a great start of the week. This month we will be working and learning about the Animal Kingdom and their habitat
The words of this month are:
Los animales Salvajes – Wild Animals
Los animales del Mar – Ocean Animals
Herbivoro - Herbivores
Carnivoro - Carnivores
Los animales domesticos – Domestic Animals
Habitat – Habitat
La pecera – The fish tank
La comida – The food
El Corazon – The heart

This week we are specially working on the Ocean Animals, the numbers 1 to 5, the letters M, P and T in our notebooks.
This month we have many fun events going on:
Monday February 14th Valentine’s Day every classroom has a little celebration.
Wednesday, February 16th through Friday, March 4th Scholastic Book Fair. Don’t miss it!!
Also on Wednesday and Friday next week is Pet day, if you would like to bring your pet please let your teacher know, we have a sign up sheet on your child's classroom to coordinate times.

Week of January 10th-14th

Hola Parents:
During this week we will continue learning about "The Vegetable Kingdom" and we will be talking about the plants and the fruits.
On Wednesday for our cooking class we will do a tropical skewer with fruits, and I will appreciate your cooperation in bringing a fruit to share for this activity.
We will also work in our notebooks reinforcing our writing skills, doing math, and working the numbers 1 to 10.
This week is our art fair, please take a couple minutes when you drop of or pick up your child to stop and take a look, it is in the hallway outside the class :)
Please remember to go over the new vocabulary with your child and congratulate him/her for their progress.
Inclement Weather Policy: As you know we follow Wake County's Inclement Weather Policy, if we make any changes in this policy we will notify you by email

We start the New Year learning about the "The Vegetable Kingdom"
This month we are learning about the plants, the fruits and the vegetables, how plants grow and what  they need to do so.
Our children will do a seeder and will work in their notebooks the new words they are learning about this new theme.

  • Las Hojas- The Leaves
