Theme of the month: “Los Animales/The Animals"

Salutation and highlights of week:
Hola Ositos parents, we hope you have had a wonderful week! 
Our Ositos are participating in different activities related to domestic animals and next week they will learn their characteristics, habitat, and feeding. Your child can bring a stuffed wild animal to share with his/her friends to continue talking about this topic. It will be so much fun! 
*As a special activity we will read the story of Martin Luther King and children will make art.

Objectives we will be working are as follows:

Naming wild animals

Recognize the habitat of wild animals 
Recognize and describe the care that must be taken with animals

·        Our student of the week is Riley Richards, You can bring your favorite toy, book or picture during this week to share with your friends. 
 
We will start with The Traveling Pet activity next week. Our pet's name is Willy, the bear and he will travel every week with different family. Your Child will have Willy for a week. Our pet will be taken home on Monday and you will return it next Monday. Kieran was the first child who took home our pet and next week Willy, the bear will be visiting Wilfrid's house. Enjoy your week with Willy!! 
 
Friendly Reminders: 
According to our regulations, children's jackets must be separated from their other belongings. For this reason, please, we ask you to bring a grocery bag (Recycle one) that will remain in the class for jackets and winter items.

Happy New Year 2015. We are happy to start a new year together! The theme this week is “Los Animales” “The Animals”. If you would like to collaborate on this subject we invite you to share with us.

Objectives we will be working are as follows

·         We play with flash cards concerning the subject.
·         We identify pets and wild animals.

Cognitive
·         Dramatize farm animals and wild animals.
·         Recognize and write the number 6. 
·         Identify different figures. 

Psychomotor:

Hola Ositos parents, we hope you have had a wonderful week. Thank you for your collaboration with our theme "Mi comunidad/My community." Next week our theme will be “Proyectos de Navidad/Christmas Project” We will talk about the meaning and customs of Christmas. Also, our Ositos will be creating art.

·         Family project- Decorate the gingerbread man ( Gingerbread man is in your child's cubby) 
·         Parents, as you know our Holiday Celebration will be Monday December 29th.. For this reason we would be grateful to the children who will attend the activity, are present in the morning in our school to practice the show. 

Important Upcoming Dates: 

December 16th - Tuesday - Santa Claus Visit  Santa will be coming to greet the children and pass out presents on December 16th! We ask for the parents to be Santa's elves! Please bring a gift wrapped book for each one of your children as we did last year, and remember to label each gift with your child's first and last name. You can place your gift underneath our Christmas tree in the lobby and look for your child/children’s classroom box.

December 24-25 - School closed for the holidays 

December 29 - Holiday Celebration!!!!!

When: Monday, December 29  3:45 pm (Arrival time) 4:00 pm (Show starts) 

December 31- Our school will be open, please let us know if your child will attend.
